As with the last one, in the Northwestern Region, the ideal conditions and outlooks are the smae for these states.

This poll assumes the severe chancing and reasoning applyed by the NWS is the same.

Apparently I got disqualified. Well, next contest I wont fall out so easily! I am having a great time here is SLC. The weather is more severe then it usually is, so it is more interesting, therefore I am more excited! biggrin.gif

Today, I personally am expecting NWS to be way in over it's head. 30% chance of severe within 25 miles of a point currently in the Center of Illinois for the Day 2 convective outlook. I understand the moisture, but if there is a tornado chance posted, I'll be a tad bit confused. Well, I am not an "expert" on the matter, so lets see what happens.

([number of called chase days currently] - [days left in contest])/2 - (their chases) > 0
My number currently is 0=0 biggrin.gif Just qualified.
[Their current chases] < ([current called days] - [days left in contest])/2
0<7 Valid.
[Their current chases] < [current called days]/2 - [days left in contest]
7<0? A little confusing, this formula, Im qualified in the other two, but this one would have me only be qualified if I had few chase days. Id onjly qualify at this point if I had 0 chase days. I think you mean't
[Their current chases] > [current called days]/2 - [days left in contest]
In that case I would be 7>0, which is a valid awnser

In this case I think I still can chase. Nice Formulas!

I'm pretty much busted, thats what you get when trusting the NWS, when I submitted, I was in a 30% risk area, and now Im hanging on (or off) of the "SLGT" risk area by a thread!

This time it won't happen, cyclonic shear, excellent moisture, and warm temperatures, I don't know if the NWS will amplify the risk to "MOderate" but I sure hope they do!

Good luck!

QUOTE (Windy @ May 27 2010, 06:30 AM) *
Also, Chasers will begin to see that the score sheet will start separating out Chasers above and below the 50% Chased minimum. If you fall below the dreaded "black line", don't worry, you are still in the competition and have enough remaining Chase days to get your total days Chased back over the 50% mark. Just remember to get a pick in every day for a week or so. That usually gets most Chasers back on the trend. As we near the end of the contest we will have another dreaded "black line" and this one will be the disqualifier. Once your Chase count gets below a point where if you Chased every single day remaining in the contest, you still couldn't meet the 50% minimum, you will be below that line.

So keep on Chasin' and see how well you can bring in the scores this final month!

For a moment there, I thought I was doomed. But then I counted the days up and figures I could get 75% out of 50% by the end! Take a look at medic[something] on the score sheet, he has over 100%!

"I haven't lost my marbles," she said, reassuring herself.

"Thank God it didn't rain crocodiles."

Yes, yes just keep telling yourself that, wait untill the tornado hits a glass factory and a zoo! You'll get your physical marbles back...... but your mental marbles will melt. dry.gif (He's telling those again)

Without a closer look, I am currently looking at Montana, as a lesser candidate, and Upper New England as the better candidate. Either way, I am picking something this time. A 30% risk seems good. I'll pick later in the day!

QUOTE (JeopardyTempest @ Apr 30 2010, 03:32 PM) *
Storms continue to push east into a new month, and it looks like SPC has Dixie to Dayton under the gun for tomorrow.

70+F dewpoints in the south, LLJ cranking up north... and jet stream winds for all. Sounds like a party you want to be invited to. Or maybe you've got another target in mind? But wherever you're looking, consider this your invitation to the dance. Just make sure you're RSVP'd by 5Z (1 AM Eastern, Midnight Centeral, 11 PM Mountain, 10 PM Pacific).

Hope you have a great day!

Id better not forget to mail by that time or I swear Ill *Channel Disconnected*

Hail reports coming in over fresh storms. DANG thats where I wanted to go! Actually I think those storms are older. 2 people just scored for hail!
Edit: Multicell cluster. Looks pretty strong. If it keeps going, It may produce a hail area!

Had that discussed on BBC a few months ago. THe result (eventually) is going to be The Movie Channel. SIGH I used to watch that when I was 10 and 11 and even 12, but now I think it turned sour.

As you most likely saw on the shoutbox, I missed punching in mt time because I thought either you had to reserve it or punch it in between 5 and 12z. As you can see, I wont be participating in the MOST severe event!!! laugh.gif ANyways, how far was I from getting a small hail report last time?
