Welcome to the 2010 Nascar season and the 8th year of this contest! I'm excited to finally have a championship that I can defend after 7 years of trying. I hope we have a lot of exciting competition in this year's contest!
If you are not familiar with the rules of this contest, you can click here to read the complete rules. This link is also available near the top of this forum (below the current standings) at any time. There are two relatively minor rule changes this year, partially taken from the suggestions posted by madalwx. Those changes are as follows: In order to use your SG pick, at least one of your picks must either fall out of the race or finish at least 10 laps behind the winner. Your SG cannot simply replace a driver who has a poor finish because of an ill-handling car. You will also be awarded up to 25 additional points based on how many laps your top 3 picks led during the race. This will be calculated based on the percentage of laps they led divided by 4. For example, if your top 3 drivers led 300 laps in a 500 lap race, that is 60%, and you would get 15 bonus points. This is based on your original top 3 picks and is not impacted by your SG pick. Please post your default picks in this thread. You may use them throughout the season if you like, but most people just use them as backups in case they can't get to a computer at some point during the contest. Post them just like normal picks, 1st-10th place plus a saving grace pick. If you have any questions, feel free to post them in this thread as well. Aw, heck, I'll bite, though I probably won't make many weekly picks... I just don't know/follow NASCAR enough to make week-to-week changes

We have a number of participants from last year who have not submitted any type of picks for this year. I was not planning to do this, but because there are so many of you in that group, I will cycle last year's default picks over and continue using them in this year's contest if you would like me to do that. Just let me know if you would like to do that sometime before the deadline for next week's race at California. There will be a 10% penalty on your score for the Daytona 500.

Here is the list of everyone's default picks for 2010. Weatherman, I encourage you to post a set for yourself in this thread which you can fall back on if you are unable to submit race picks at anytime during the year.
All participants are free to change their defaults at any point during the season. If you would like to change yours, do not simply edit your post because that will not bump the thread back to the top and I won't know that you have changed them (that was a problem one time last year). To change your defaults at any time during the year, post them in a new reply to this thread.

Yes, you will start out a little behind since you've missed 2 races but you can still play, and points reset after race 26 anyway.
Some of your picks confuse me, though. Which Busch do you want in 4th? And who are #9 and SG? There is no driver named "Petty Jr" or "Boyle". |

Martinsville I usually dont go to this one cause its alittle confussing to me with everyone ones race picks for the next race cause theres 2 of them instead of only 1. Here are my race default picks: 88, 24, 48, 14, 9, 20, 42, 99, 33, 16 & Save 29. I know for a fact I will miss atleast 6 races I always have. Take Care
